Nightbooks

By: J. A. White

Review:

Nightbooks, by J. A. White, is unlike any other books I’ve read! A boy gets lured into a magical apartment where a witch lives and is forced to write stories to read to the witch each night. He tries to escape and thinks he’s made it, but hasn’t actually escaped. The unique way the plot unfolds was intriguing. Will he ever find his way out and defeat the witch? There is a nice combination of description and action that hooks the reader until the end. I think this is a great summer read!

Official book description:

Alex’s original hair-raising tales are the only thing keeping the witch Natacha happy, but soon he’ll run out of pages to read from and be trapped forever. He’s loved scary stories his whole life, and he knows most don’t have a happily ever after. Now that Alex is trapped in a true terrifying tale, he’s desperate for a different ending—and a way out of this twisted place.
